Q1: What is a Tuck Point blade used for?

A: A Tuck Point blade is used to remove old mortar from joints between bricks or blocks (a process called "raking out") so that new mortar can be applied. It is also used for cutting wide grooves in concrete.

Q2: Why is it so thick?

A: The 6.4mm (1/4") thickness allows the blade to remove the entire width of a standard mortar joint in one or two passes, which is much faster than using a thin standard blade.

Q3: Can I use it on concrete?

A: Yes. It is excellent for cutting wide channels or chases in concrete floors and walls for laying cables or pipes ("chasing"), as well as for general concrete repair.

Q4: Is it Laser Welded?

A: Yes. Laser welding provides a much stronger bond than standard sintering. This is critical for tuck pointing because the blade generates a lot of heat and friction on the sides of the segment.
