Laser-welded Looping diamond blades or loop line diamond blades have been produced to cut different sizes of wide slots in asphalt or tarmac, they are often used for the installation of detector loops in factory floors and traffic light cables. These loop line diamond blades are available in standard sizes of 6mm, 8mm, 10mm, 12mm, and 16mm widths and with an application of concrete. Q1: What is a "Loop" blade used for?

A: It is used to cut wide slots (grooves) in roads to bury electrical wires for "Induction Loops" – the sensors that detect cars at traffic lights and parking barriers. It cuts a wide path in one pass so the wire fits easily.

Q2: Can I use this for normal cutting?

A: You can, but it is not efficient. It removes 3-4 times more material than a standard blade, so it cuts slower and requires more power. Only use it when you need a wide groove (6mm+).

Q3: Do I need water?

A: Yes. Cutting a wide groove generates a lot of friction and dust. Wet cutting is essential to cool the wide segments, flush out the heavy slurry, and keep the cut clean for the wire installation.

Q4: Does it fit my floor saw?

A: These blades typically come with a standard 25.4mm (1 inch) arbor with a drive pin hole, fitting most standard walk-behind floor saws (Husqvarna, Stihl, etc.). Ensure your saw has enough horsepower (13HP+) to drive a wide blade.
